I went back through my predictions from the beginning of last season to see how my 10 big predicitions from last year came out. So how did I do?
1. Kawaii Leonard stays with the Raptors- Close, but no cigar
2. Kevin Durant will switch teams- Check mark
3. One of Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook or Giannis will too- 2 out of 3 in fact.
4. Either Danzan Musa or Mitchell Robinson make an all rookie team- Robinson shouldve made first team instead of second. And I still have faith in Musa long term
5. And at least one will have a better career than #2 overall pick Marvin Bagley-I dont think everyone would agree with me on this , but I still think Mitch Rob is a noticably better prospect than Bagley.
6. We get a surprise four seed in the East: The Washington Wizards- Whoooops!!! Skip this one please
7. Someone other than Houston will be the 2 seed out west- Bingo!
8. For only the second time in the last 10 years the finals will be a matchup of #1 seeds- I think this would’ve happened had Fred Van Vleet not shot approximately 96% from the 3 point land against Milwaukee. The Cavs make the playoffs while Lebron and the Lakers watch from home- All credit I built up from saying the Lakers wouldn’t make the playoffs gets washed away by saying Cleveland might.

10. The final one was about Jimmy Butler finishing first or second in MVP voting. Let’s just say his situation is a little too fluid to proceed with that one. That being said if there were ever a year for a dark horse MVP to emerge out of relative nowhere this would be it- Nope.
Overall, I was happy with these predictions. I went out on some limbs and feel like I hit at a higher rate than a typical Vegas style sportsbook would’ve predicted.
I also put in my prediction about Leonard staying that Boston and the Lakers would regret not including Jaylen Brown and Brandon Ingram in trade packages for Kawhi. I feel very safe saying that’s the case today!
I’m looking forward to running it back next year.
